By the way... they met their goal within 8mins.  Did you back the project yet?....if so which option?...base and remote? Yes, I backed the project... remote 3 & Dock 3 bundle at the early bird price. So I get the Remote 3, Dock 3, IR blaster, IR extender with dual LEDs, and USB-C power cable. I plan to power the dock with PoE.  |

I did just the Remote 3, which will include the Dock 3 due to the upgraded reservation. So all I had to do is back the Remote 3 at the €279 price and the Dock 3 will be included so long as I used the same email in Kickstarter as was used for the reservation.

ABSOLUTELY KEEP US ALL UP TO DATE ON THIS THING !!!
I personally don't need a complex remote control...
BUT, since the Logitech Harmony has been discontinued, there has been a big gap in the market for a truly programmable remote...
(And, as I recall, the price on this is pretty much in line with the Harmony... if you count the total cost.) As capable as the 'Remote 3' doubtless IS, I find a price of 500$ US to be offputting..... It MAY be the way to go for systems on the MOST Complex side of the fence. For me? I've got 5 IR devices in the LR. I hardly need all the home automation and other features. If I had 'the max' and added home automation and MORE? This kind of remote may come into play. |

Wait a minute... I thought my new sunglasses were "AI"... I'm getting very tired of hearing everything called AI now... when almost none of it actually is... and what is even close usually doesn't work very well. I'll be satisfied when Alexa actually reaches a point where it usually plays the song I ask it for... And when somebody's "AI something" can actually find me a copy of that rare CD I've been trying to find for well over a year now... No such thing as AI.......Expert YES.....Intelligent? NO...... It is questionable that even on the human level 'intelligence' exists...... Want to sell a '650 or so? |

Not even 'almost none'......NONE is actually AI.
NONE of these things can pass the Turing Test with the possible exception of one of those chat bots.......
Even that can be considered 'expert'.........Just the help you want at the Doctors Office when you have something
which stumps the Doctor.....

Will likely put the Sofabaton X1S on my Christmas list....can't buy now as my system is all packed up and we are waiting to sign a contract on a new home build. Home will probably not be complete for at least six months from whenever they start.
My Harmony One still works, but this one interests me.

the 'TV Remote' market is rapidly morphing into the 'Home Automation' field......
U2 is on MY list. Mainly due to modest overall needs....

I had reserved on the unfolded circle sight some time ago and had a reservation #, so those that had done that were offered a free base as long as we backed the Remote 3 on kickstarter by the deadline. I didn’t get the early discounted pricing you are referring to, but will still get the Base 3 with my Remote 3 only order. |

Stil and all, it is IMO a tough sell at the 'ask'......And having to pony up an additional sum for the base is not on my to-do list..... One major plus? The 'wireless' charging, which I presume can use the same gear as used for phones? Or is that wrong? I'm going to ask the Sofabaton people if, once up and configured, the remote works without the phone / app  |
