I’m new to the Emotiva world. I am unable to determine how to hook up the DAC to the CD player. We recently upgraded our XDA-1 to the XDA-3. The XDA-1 has a specific connection for the ERC-2. I have searched online and the forums and have not found the answer. If someone can provide guidance it would greatly appreciated.

How did you have them connected before, any digital connection would be fine if you want to use the DAC of the XDA-3.

"1 RCA S/PDIF, 1 Optical (TosLink), AES/EBU digital output via XLR". hometheaterhifi.com/reviews/audio-player/cd-players/emotiva-erc-2-cd-player/The S/PDIF and/or the Toslink outputs of your ERC-2 can be connected to the XDA-3. What 'specific connection' were you using from your ERC-2 to your XDA-1?

I was using the AES/EBU connection. On the XDA-3 it does not have this connection as an option.

Please feel free to use the TOSLINK Optical connection, or the Coaxial RCA Digital connection out from the ERC-2, going to the XDA-3, and either one will work just fine.
