This is a weird one; The last time I used Dirac I had no problem with seeing the XMC-1. Without changing anything on either the XMC-1 or the Windows 10 computer, now it stopped seeing the XMC-1. I ran a cat5 cable directly to the XMC-1 and the hub and checked the wifi on the computer and it was set properly. The network Firewall was disabled and I ran it in "Administrator Mode". The microphone was plugged in with the red light on solid (not blinking) and no "windows new hardware sound" when plugged in or removed (a possible issue). The XMC-1 shows an IP Address, Sub Net Mask, etc. so the XMC-1 is connected to the local network and the Windows 10 tablet is also connected to the local network as well as the internet. I tried moving to another Windows 10 computer with Dirac loaded in and the same thing happens when I plug in the microphone (no Windows new hardware sound and a solid red light on the microphone) and Dirac can't see the XMC-1.
Does anyone know why this new "Dirac not seeing the XMC-1" problem is happening and better yet how to fix it. This is driving me crazy. Dirac is pricey, especially when your paying for solutions and getting problems instead. Thanks in advance for your help!!

How long has it been? I’ve heard rumors (though I don’t use it) that using Dirac today with the XMC1 one is problematic and you have to get with those who have worked the problem to make it run now. it won’t be long before somebody else jumps in here I’m unfamiliar with the workaround because I’ve never used it Only my ears since 2014.

There are two directions to approach this... The first is that it is a network issue. Networks are actually internally quite complicated so, every time you turn things off and on, or connect things "there's a lot going on inside there"... Before ANYTHING else I would try power cycling the XMC-1... and MAKE SURE that it remains off for AT LEAST 30 SECONDS.
If you power the XMC-1 off and then on again, for any reason, and don't allow it to remain off for at least 30 seconds, the Ethernet port will not reset and you will not get a network connection. (And I mean really at least 30 seconds by the clock... not just "sort of about 30 seconds" since, if you're even a few seconds below that, it may not work.) Next I would try resetting your router. That means to actually POWER OFF OR UNPLUG your router, wait a minute or two, then plug it back in. Sometimes routers just "get funny in the head" and need a reset (this will fix about 50% of all network problems in a home network). You MUST actually power the router off... just pushing a "reset button" may or may not do it. (It's even better to power off or unplug EVERY network connected device, so they're all off at the same time, then power them all back on again.) It is also POSSIBLE that the Dirac Live software is acting funky because it cannot see the microphone. (You do usually get the classic be-boop when you plug in the microphone.) (Also, Windows should see the microphone, and it should make the little meter bounce in Control Panel if you talk into it.) There are a few new "microphone privacy" settings in Windows that can block Dirac Live from being able to use the microphone. However these will generally manifest after Dirac Live is running.... by having the test tones play while Dirac Live shows "zero level" on its meters. These shouldn't affect the ability to initially connect over the network. I suspect that the problem might be microphone-related (you should have gotten a Windows be-boop when you plugged it in.) Hi Keith, thanks for your reply. I'm editing my post extensively after doing some rather lengthy research and investigation. After hours of messing around chasing down a whole bunch of wormholes, I finally decided to reload the Dirac software and VAHWALLA it works just fine now. K.I.S.S. strikes again!!
Thanks again!

Hmm, sounds like UNPNP is not fully installing the Microphone. That Be Boop you hear. I think the network is fine. DIRAC needs a Microphone profile to do its thing, and if is not fully installed, it's not going to work. I would look at the Device Manager event log for the smoking gun possibly. Also see if there are any conflicts in device manager for your USB mux or ports. Maybe get the latest driver for USB. There have been some pretty big updates in Win 10 lately, and maybe USB got unhappy about something.
