Help with components

Any help would be appreciated, as I am new to the separates set-up.

Currently running a Yamaha AVR and a Emotiva amp to run a 3.1 system for 80% music/20% movies. I’m thinking I need to go with a PT1  & Xda-3 to cover all my basses (PT1 for the phono stage and subwoofer out and the Xda-3 for a cd transport and HMDI for our AppleTv).  

Am I missing anything? These should work for my needs, right?

You could ALWAYS run the optical out from the TV for just the audio.....to an external DAC unless your proposed equipment already has one......

I run all optical and have nothing which needs HDMI except from the small dish receiver (like.....DTV or Dish Network) TO the TV.

I use as much optical as possible since that has no possible ground problems.....And have not used the TV speakers in 3 decades or longer.

But I only run a 2.1 'lacking' a 3rd, center channel.....
