So I have had my MR1L for a few weeks now, lately when I power it on it takes forever to connect to the TV. It keeps showing no signal, also when whatever it is I am streaming and the show is paused I get a very loud static noise from the speakers that is so annoying I have to shut down the receiver. There is also static when I change channels on the television. I have ordered a different HDMI cable so maybe it will solve these issues, if nothing changes I will be putting in a ticket to Emotiva next week.

UPDATE!!
I replaced the HDMI cable with a much better one, so far so good, it does take some time to load the program in the receiver but at least now it connects and the static/popping noise is gone.

Better HDMI cable? How much $$ for 'better'??
Those other items noted by Ilike would make me nuts....

I spent $45 for a 6 foot cable, everything has seemed to have cleared up so no more issues.

I would LOVE to see some magazine do some "double blind viewing tests" on some of those fancy HDMI cables. (Oddly, however, I don't think that's ever going to happen.)

Oddly, as with a lot of things, the super-expensive ones aren't always actually better... (I find it even funnier because, while some people actually show off their speaker cables, MOST people hide their HDMI cables anyway.) I guess I should point out that it IS a good idea to avoid making sharp bends in HDMI cables... And that they don't like being pinched or kinked either... But big heavy stiff ones do have a tendency to break the connectors on your A/V products if you pull on them... Better HDMI cable? How much $$ for 'better'?? Those other items noted by Ilike would make me nuts....

Don't even get me started about the fiction of expensive cables. You buy expensive cables because you can. If that is your bag, rock on. For me, my money goes to endeavors more meaningful for me. Your mileage may vary.

An example at about a 90 degree angle from the normal direction?
Automotive quality is only slighly related to price, if at all. What you DO get for more $$ is just like audio.
Amazing Leather Interior and all sorts of goodies. But JUST as much time in the shop as your lesser cost auto.
I bought Mazda. I had No problems with my '6' and neice has had wonderful luck with her CX-5 and put 200k on her '3'.......
My MX-5 (Miata) as trouble free.
But you folks who decided on BMW or Mercedes? Get ready for an EXTRA FEE for some paint colors. And if you want the heated seats to work? That's a monthly or annual subscription. These 'prestige' brands are Milking it.
But I'll make ONE exception. If I were STINKING RICH? I'd have a LC500 in a heartbeat. 5.0 V8 of 471hp. Beautiful to look at and a superb driving experience. Good news? Only 100 large. You get treated well at the dealer, too......If you gotta GO somewhere, might as well arrive in style!

What about the 90 deg angle adapter for situations where a sharp bend is "necessary". Do they degrade the signal? I've had very good experience with the reasonably-priced HDMI cables from Monoprice, but I am going to change the location of my receiver and it's going to be close to a wall. All of these adapters seem to be sourced from China at price points varying at a factor of 2X.

I'd try to arrange my system to make sure I Did Not need such workarounds.
