Don’t go ape on cables. Canare Or Mogami all you need. Trust worthy, and not spending the life savings to get. Amazon sells a brand called the world’s best cable with Mogami cores and Neutrik XLR terminations. Trustworthy and you need nothing else. Sound transmission and reliability all these things do without the high price and mystical bullschitt of high end audio folklore. Professional sound guys on site depend on Canare and Mogami as their cable. Done! Thank you!  |

Amazon will sell 'unknown' with (60:40 chance) counterfeit Neutrik connectors. Unknown wire, too, no matter what
the claim.
Belden is made in USA wire and Canare is made in Nagoya Japan......Neutrick is located in Liechtenstein.
Me? I'll support the Home Team first......IF POSSIBLE....Japanese quality and attention to detail is legend
and Liechtenstein? I thought they made cheese or something.
But bottom line? Spend more for knowns.
Recently? I shopped for SPARK PLUGS for my 'Lament. Calls for a specific NGK plug. Honda got OVER 35$ each for 'em
and Amazon listing was for about 10$ or less IIRC. But the Amazon listing was 4 Fake. People reported 10,000 miles than pulling
a chunk of HEAD out upon attempts to remove......I paid more at a REAL auto parts store......The Laser Iridium plug is supposed
to go 100k miles.

Thanks again for all your help and advice.
Emotiva XDA-3 DAC, and XPA-DR1 Monoblock's received today. I am impressed.
First notice was fuller lows in female vocals. I especially like that sound.
This is a move up from a 20 year old Marantz Receiver 100 watts per channel.
This full sound in female vocals often distorts at louder volume, but not with this new setup.
I understand now what the Marantz “house sound” is. It is a nice sound. This new setup is a cleaner sound.
I’m surprised that I’m not in a rush to reconnect the subwoofer.
Now to work on speaker placement.

You've got it 100% and I expect nothing but a positive result. Might want to mess with crossover frequency of the sub.
I ended up below 50hz......with a 24db / octave cross while the mains are cut 5hz to 10hz above that and are a 12db / octave cut....
Seems to blend seamlessly.

Nice 😎 I think I'm learning that the XDA-3 DAC RCA outs will not drive the SVS SB-1000 sub. I am quite enjoying the sound without a sub for now... But I'll be thinking about options to get the sub working again |
