Due to major chains no longer supplying movies anymore, I wanted to start a thread on sources. Obviously Amazon, but here is at least one company that is reproducing older movies. www.arrowvideo.comPlease add if you know more sources.

I do very well there with older movies and older music. That being said to do well there, you have to understand the eBay game…..it’s primarily an exercise in human nature. I have no need for physical media to be brand new if it’s older, simply unscratched if it’s digital. I have acquired some great media to add to my collection and some for as little as 3 to 4 bucks a pop.

This topic REALLY did not hit home until this morning….. Best Buy sent me an “ earned” $5 gift certificate and I went there on line maybe to get the last Jones flick copy for the collection. Suddenly I’m reading; basically an historical accounting regarding the demise of Blu-ray in lieu of ultra and so on…. As the advance of how sharp a flag looks on a screen as opposed to superior acting and the quality of a story I’m at a loss.

Arrow Video (the link you followed) is a "private label" who only markets titles that they hold the exclusive rights to distribute which, understandably, isn't much. Shout Factory, Criterion, Kino Lorber and Vinegar Syndrome are also private labels of the same business model. You'd have a much better experience finding titles that you'd actually consider buying using almost anyone from the list of "brick & mortar" and "online retailers" in my post above.

Well, of course, following the link and searching for a title was just a bit of baptism through fire…… Already knowing that I would probably end up with a goose egg. Most of the recent titles that I pick up have been used titles from eBay and fantastic deals. I just keep a search there for anything that interests me. I just got discouraged this morning when I went to the Best Buy site with my coupon that was given to me by then only to find out as I got updated you can’t even buy discs from them anymore. I’ve hated Best Buy for quite some time nicknamed them “worst Buy” 20 years ago They continue to live up to their much deserved reputation, lol
