The current 25% sale on the MR1 has me re-evaluating my purchase decision for a new Receiver. I was planning on the new Denon X6800 along with my A-100 to get 9.1.4 (wides). But, the MR1 is some $2K less expensive and I am VERY sympathetic to the Emo argument that the MR1 doesn't have a lot of things that I don't even use: like HEOS, multi-rooms, tuners and HDMI 2.2.
The most important thing is the ability to support wides and it appears that I can feed my A-100 from the pre-outs marked for wides. My question is does the MR1 processor support wides? Seems a reasonable presumption that it does, but I cannot find anything on line showing part of the setup which explicitly activates wides.
Once one has 9.1.4, DTS:X Pro is possible, but the info does not show that this is a supported format. Is it possible that some future firmware update will add this capability? I would like to have this because all 13 speakers are activated when applying up-conversion to non-Atmos material, but it's not a deal-breaker.
