Hello, I have not been able to get the rear IR Input Jack to work on my MR1.
There is no menu option to enable/disable the front or rear IR receiver like on other Emotiva models. But when I plug a mono mini cable in to the MR1 it disables the front IR, but will not respond to any IR input from the IR system.
I have tons of IR parts, and have used IR repeater systems on lots of equipment without issue. I got Xantech, Niles, Speakercraft, and Elan stuff that I have tried,
None of the systems will control via the MR1's 3.5mm IR Input.
Weird thing is when I put a multimeter on the mono cable plugged into it I get constant 5v on it? IR systems wouldn't have voltage on the sending Emmiter/Blaster/Cable side, its a 2 wire connection for Signal and Ground, +12v constant power the would be provided to the IR systems on the other side of the block on the 3rd wire.
Tip= +5v Sleeve= GND
Even weirder is if I plug a stereo cable into the MR1 it has 5v and 3v steady?
Tip= +5v Ring= GND Sleeve= +3v
Anyone know why there would constant voltages on the IR IN jack???
Has anyone here been successful integrating the MR1 into their Hardwired IR systems? If so what brand and parts did you use?
Does anyone know the Tip and Ring pinout for the 3.5 jack for sure?
This receiver is Rackmounted and I don't want an Emitter on the front, everything else I have is hardwired with no issues.

I have the MC1, which I'm pretty sure has the same processing as the MR1, and I have not been able to get the rear IR input to work either. I've tried several including this one (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009ZGK6QS) with no success. I posted a similar question a long time ago in the MC1 thread and never got an answer from anyone, including Emotiva support. Let me know if you get it to work and I'll do the same. Thanks.

Have you contacted Support? They don't see everything on this forum. I would call.
