I got the announcement by email this morning and was looking at this.
My question is the same as has been posed before on the Roon forum, is this any better sound-wise than running a Mac mini? I don't think so. But, it may be more convenient.
If someone can show how it would be better sound quality in a factual way, then I might try One.

Roon posted within their forum that there is no sound difference between hardware / docker implementation of Core. It all boils down to convenience factor.
That being said, if Core is running on a system with a loud fan, then sure it may detract from the overall experience if it's located within the same room that you're listening in. I ran a couple of non-scientific tests and I couldn't hear any difference between Windows 10, macOS nor Core running as a docker from my NAS. I left Core running on my NAS as it's on 24/7, so no need to run another computer to listen to music.
