The UMC-200 is a legacy product - but there are still quite a few of them remaining in service.
We have had quite a few reports over the years of units where the SETUP PANEL on the Menu System became inaccessible (it simply doesn't appear on the menu).
This is a serious problem because it makes it impossible to access the Factory Reset option as well as most configuration settings on the unit.
(Apparently this "Setup Lock", which is a feature on some of our other processors, is still present in the UMC-200 firmware, and can be invoked unintentionally by a firmware glitch on the UMC-200.)
WE HAVE DISCOVERED THAT, AT LEAST SOME OF THE TIME, THIS "SETUP LOCK" CAN BE UNLOCKED BY A SPECIFIC SEQUENCE OF BUTTON PRESSES.
On the front panel of the unit: PRESS THE MENU BUTTON WHILE HOLDING DOWN THE ENTER BUTTON.
NOTE:
We cannot verify that this will always work on any unit that has unintentionally locked its Setup Manu pane...
(But it is definitely worth a try.)
NOTE:
This only applies to units that are otherwise working...
It will NOT help a unit that is experiencing a power supply problem.
