I have just taken delivery of a BasX -TA2 and since the unit is out of sight (along with all my other techy stuff) I really need a remote that can select the specific inputs (it was surprise and my first Emotiva disappointment that the remote just cycles through the analogue inputs). So far support and the forum have been great in getting me the IR codes that clearly have all the individual source selections, now I need to find a Universal remote that I can Program with these Hex codes (since there isnt a remote that it can learn from). The Sofabaton looked a possibility, but their tech support came back and said no. I have been looking at the ONA and that sounds like it may work, but I am reaching out to see of anyone has actually done this and has any guidance. I have the document on the Forum posted by KeithL called TA2PT2 IR CODE_current_2024-03-12. which lists all the hex codes. But its not clear if they can be "imported" into the ONA - there is a forum post talking about 'Advanced Codes" or EFC's that are 5 digits, but the HEX codes I have from KeithL's document are 6 characters and suspect they are not the same?
I know about Harmony, I had a few over the years and they were brilliant but sadly they have all died and the prices are now silly so I have ruled that out.
I dont have much else I want to control, I will have a Samsung TV hooked up to Optical, Turntable for Phono, HiRes Digital audio via USB, and then for the analogue inputs Sonos, CD player, and Tape. So ideally the remote would control TV, TA2, CD and Tape player. But tbh everything else has a remote and I am not phobic about multiple remotes, I just want one that will directly select the TA2 sources even if its another one and thats all it will do !! Its a music room and direct selection of sources is very important (for me, clearly not everyone) as I do a lot of comparisons.
Anyone with any experience or guidance would be appreciated.
