If you've already purchased one or more sets of Airmotiv X-Series Loudspeakers please tell us all why you decided to buy them.
If you're still deciding, but are favoring our new X-Series Loudspeakers, check the features that you consider important.
Please check all that apply.

I was about to order the x3's however after I saw Andrews video...I changed my mind. Not because of the power...I have one XPA amplifier plus others. I like the fact he said they can play loud, are dynamic and the need power. But I did not like the narrow disperssion. Loved the measurements , perhaps a cross over mod will help them be the GREAT VALUE they seem to be? Also I like the fact that now you have a HO ribbon compared to the last version...

I haven't watched Andrew's video yet... but I have to say that it has not been our experience that the new Airmotiv speakers have "narrow dispersion". Not only has this not been my experience when listening to them... But neither their cabinet design, nor the components used, would be likely to cause this from an engineering point of view. I kind of suspect that Andrew's experience with them was far from typical. I was about to order the x3's however after I saw Andrews video...I changed my mind. I'll refrain from taking Andrew's review as gospel until I either see some reliable objective data, or other trusted reviewers that strongly suggest the same opinions. Maybe Erin (Erin's Audio Corner) will review them. Factual data off of his Klippel system would tell whether Andrew's subjective opinions were on point...

What I found out interesting after I review his video 3 times, he kept mentioning the cut off bass at 40hz. It has been my experience with most speakers that is a very average cut off point! The measurements are FLAT I love flat speakers..(.I come from the old STUDIO MONITOR WORLD ) which is surprising. So for the price and build quality these are supposed to be the DEAL of the CENTURY. Now if I could only make a decision if I want to loose some shipping money or go and listen to them somewhere ...

Everybody is entitled to their opinions... and has their own tastes... I also thought it was interesting that he found that "several AVRs had trouble driving our speakers". Oddly enough, none of our amplifiers seem to have any trouble whatsoever driving our speakers, and that includes our quite economical BasX models. And our receiver doesn't seem to have any trouble driving them either. I guess that says something about a lot of AVRs. And why you're really better off with a decent separate amplifier. Hmmmm.... I ordered the XT-2s as soon as they were made available. So I've had them for many months now.
After several months of use, I greatly disagree with Andrew Robinson's review. I am using a "lowly" TA-2, which is not exactly a power house, and I haven't have any issues. I do not find them overly bright and not that different from the T2+s I also own. Some recordings sound bright, others lack bass, but that is on the recording. Using the classic Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, I am quite satisfied.
I did notice the following;
1) The higher the volume I use, the more the soundstage moves forward. 2) A moderate to high sibilance 3) The bass is very pitch-accurate, a characteristic that I happen to like
The source I am using is an old but reliable Linn Ikemi, and the interconnects are ALL Blue Jeans Cables. The set-up has been carefully arranged with a light toe-in and positioned 22" from the front wall from the beginning. I prefer to have a bit of distance from the side boundaries, so I am facing the speakers from the short side of the rectangular room. I am using the spikes with no free play, although I haven't had the time to get them perfectly leveled yet.
I will try to add updates, time-permitting, as I make changes to the set-up.
