what to do if the trigger isn't working between my UMC-200 and my XPA-5 ?? Has been spot on since new but for some reason it has not worked for the past couple of days.

First thing to do is try another cable and check the configuration in setup. You have two triggers on the UMC-2, did you try the other one?

Thank you for your quick reply. To be perfectly honest I did not try the other port but I will and shame on me for not checking.

well I changed from port one to port two and still no response from the amp. Looking like I will have to try a new cable and hope that it solves the issue.

If you have a voltmeter you might be able to check for voltage at the end of the cable when the trigger is supposed to be on. If there is none that that would mean a faulty cable or processor. If there is voltage it could mean a faulty XPA-5 trigger input.

Geebo, thank you for the sugestion but that is out of my safety operations with anything electrical. If it were battery powered I might try that sugestion but not knowing what I am doing my brain tells me no. I will try to find a source for a replacement trigger cable. thanks again
