I've had a TiVo EDGE since its release and have been extremely happy with the TiVo features found nowhere else, but incredibly unhappy with how they do business.
My EDGE now has the infamous Reboot Loop problem. As long as it has internet access, the unit will continually reboot immediately after producing a video image with sound and while the initial screen is showing as it always does after a reboot, then it will take an enormous amount of time to finally reboot and repeat, repeat, etc, etc, etc.
TiVo has no fix for this.
Instead, they want $250 for a replacement that may or may not resolve the issue.
So they gave me the "direct" number for the outside repair company who claims to be able to fix it, but why bother? According to TiVo, this might not be resolved with my box being repaired or with a replacement box.
I've read about this issue which began 2-3 years ago, with everyone saying the same identical process I just went through.
So, I guess I'm finally done with TiVo, unless someone knows of a permanent solution other than what I've been doing the last few days, which is to disable internet access to the TiVo box and then it works just fine except for some nice things it won't do without internet access. So this workaround is very limited is how long this can be kept up with because at some point I'll want to record something that the guide won't know about.

(Get it? It's a loop.)
edit: My belief is that this is just a money grab by TiVo since they have a script saying that they will be nice and sell me, and many others, a "replacement unit that may not fix the issue", yes that's a quote, that's what she actually said.
