My Windows amigos praise a product called Audio DeDupe. It is a program that, although file based, will look for duplicates and display their entire file paths. This allows the user to determine whether there are duplicate folders of files so that the user can opt to delete whole folders at a time.
I found a site that suggests Mac altetrnatives to Audio DeDupe, but I find each of them lacking:
TuneUp by TuneUp Media seems to be designed to work only with Apple music - not what I need / Cisdem Duplicate Finder works with files, but doesn't even mention finding duplicate folders - not what I need / Song DeDuper 2.0, again, works with files, not folders - not what I need / SongKong is for metadata massage - not duplicates - not what I need / Tune Sweeper is only for iTunes libraries - not what I need / Shoot Alike 1.1 is also file based & doesn't do folders - not what I need / iDupe is iTunes specific - not what I need / Dupe Away is also iTunes specific - not what I need / Tidy Songs is for metadata - not duplicates - not what I need / iMDeDuper is specific to iTunes libraries - not what I need / AudioFinder is a music analysis and modification program - not what I need / Song Sergeant is specific to iTunes - not what I need / iTunes Dupes Barrier is, as expected from the name, specific to iTunes - not what I need / Phelix is file specific, not directory capable - not what I need / Wondershare Tidy My Music is file based & metadata focused - not what I need
And that's all, folks!
Does anyone know of a Mac duplicates program that will (preferably) identify BOTH duplicate folders and files, or, failing that will at least display the entire file path to each pair of duplicates? Any such program must be capable of working with both USB and Network shared drives.
Thanks - Boomzilla
