Hello -
I have a bi-amping question about the BasX TA2. Will the appropriate signal be sent out to the speaker terminals when the pre-outs are being used? If so then I can bi-amp using the TA2 (well technically). I know I can test this, and I will, but was just wondering what the official answer was on this.
I love the lower frequencies I am getting on my Legacy Focus (older model) with the TA2, but want to use a CODA Continuum TS to drive the highs & mids. With the CODA it is V1 (so 150@8ohm & 300@4ohm) but the lower frequencies are thin sounding vs what I know these speakers can do. Another option is to upgrade the CODA to V2 (250@8ohm & 500@4ohm) and see what that brings forth.
Thank you, Kevin

The speaker outputs and the preamp outputs on the TA2 are both active at the same time and carry the same signal. This means that you CAN use an external amplifier, and run both full range, to do "vertical bi-amping" or "horizontal bi-amping"... This is where both amplifiers driving each speaker each receive a full range signal - and is probably what most people want to do anyway. The one thing to note is that you will not have separate level controls for the main and preamp outputs. So you will need to provide level control on your external amplifier to match the levels. But you cannot do "real bi-amping" by sending a high-pass filtered signal to one and a low-pass filtered signal to the other. Hello - I have a bi-amping question about the BasX TA2.
