I got an ad from Upscale Audio this morning letting me know about the latest in cable technology from, as we might already have guessed, Audioquest. By the way, I am only passing that sale along for your information. I get no spiffs or commissions for doing so, although I wish I did. But then I probably wouldn't get anything because hopefully no one here would fall for that snake oil. |

One of our projects (the general contracting firm I work for) was a $38,000,000 house that we finished about 6 years ago (4 year project), which isn't as large as the price would indicate because soooo much went into the overbuilt structure. $400,000 was just the speaker wire cost - no labor - for the recessed speakers in all the rooms, and again, for not as much quantity as one would think the price would indicate because it was all specialty silver wire. But even so, it wasn't as crazy as what is presented in this thread!

This story is so old now that it no longer even holds entertainment value. These days when I’m looking for absurdity in reading material (I look elsewhere) True, it is old (for you) but the adage "There's a sucker born every minute" still holds true. That's what keeps these companies in business. |

Maybe this time you buy the cheap cables but in your next life you will have the money to move up to the next level. |
