We just updated the UMC-1 specs... emotiva.com/umc1.shtmAlso, the preorder list has been reopened...you can access it from the same page, or here: emotiva.com/umc1preorders.htmlDon't hesitate...we're making these babies by the boatload! That said, you won't get an 'exact date' for your personal UMC-1 for just a bit. We're satisfying the original preorder list first. BUT, we are building enough to take care of everyone in a short period of time, and we'll keep you updated.

Thats one gussied up junk. The ones I saw when I was in Hong Kong back in the mid 60s were some of the ricketiest things I ever saw afloat outside of flotsam. I signed up on the 'new' pre-order list since I came to realize too late last Dec that I might want one. Dann - just curious - did you guys expand the size of the pre-order list or is this the result of those whom opted out? We closed the original list when it got large enough...dealing with it would/is a big job. We realized that the demand is so high that we'd have to come up with a queue of some sort for the first few months.

Sooo... with the UMC-1 Specs updated, does that mean that we might get to see the latest in XMC-1 specs too? Mark.

You mean even after all of the sandboxers who raised such a fuss about the delays and declared they were headed over to Onkyo to buy their stuff and never again deal with Emotiva? After all that you mean there is still a waiting list of people??? ;D

Or... You mean after all those sandboxers who headed over to Onkyo, there are now lots of UMC-1's left so the pre-order list is back open. ;-)

Hello...
I know that the specs state EMO Q room correction. If I remember correctly, isn't EMO Q limited primarily to distance and basic sound level corrections? Or, does it also try to flatten/correct the sound in a room as well?
Thanks

jstatuto +1 Does anybody know something about what specs for Room Correction in EMO? how many points of eq used per channel? phase check, phase/distance correction, does support LFE channel correction? etc..?

Each of the channels will have it's own 11 band EQ (you can have EmoQ do the auto setup, or you can do it yourself, as well as manually tweak what EmoQ comes up with) The sub will also have it's own 11 bands of EQ Lonnie has in the past mentioned that EmoQ will check for phase mismatch, set levels and distances, as well as EQ, so it is a fairly complete feature set. We still don't know how elaborate it is (e.g. in comparison to Audyssey). I don't think it has ever been addressed as to how many measurement points you can take - whether it will be a single location or multiple.

Thanks for the additional info. It is a bit more elaborate that I had initially expected. It will at least allow you to go in to make manual adjustments to further fine tune if necessary. I also like that it addresses sub response. I guess we will have to wait and see how intuitive the product is when it is released.

The demo they gave at Emofest showed it was very intuitive. I particularly liked that it would auto-adjust and that you could fine-tune as you saw fit.

My understanding of how it works is that EMO-Q would measure the room and make its modifications with a parametric eq and a separate graphic EQ is layered on top of it. I'm not 100% sure what the original eq is, but the secondary graphic eq would be to smooth and personalize the sound.
Maybe Lonnie can weigh in at some point.
