My ERC-1 arrived yesterday night and I use Emotiva X-XLR cable and Moster Coxial cable to my processor. (ONKYO SC5507)
Digital connection (Monster) works well, but I couldn't hear sound through analogue connection. Seems that everything is okay...maybe problem caused by SC5507 processor or my mistake.
I read every detail on user manual and did exctly same as SC5507 described. But situation didn't cahnge.
Does anyone has similar problem or teach me what should I try? Thanks!

Kiolee, Welcome to the Emotiva Lounge and congratulations on your new ERC-1.
The ERC-1's output is live thru both the XLR outs and the digital outs (coaxial in your case) at the same time. So this is not the problem presuming your XLR cable is OK which I'm sure it is.
My question is why do you have both of them hooked up? I would use only the XLR which used the ERC-1's DAC and sends an analog signal. You would bring it though the analog direct process into your Onkyo. The digital coaxial cable sends a digital signal which is processed by the Onkyo's DAC (not sure why you have this hooked up).
As you have it now I am guessing that you have both the XLR and the coaxial cables both assigned to the same CD input? (If for some reason you still want to keep both types of cables hooked up to the Onkyo then you need to use the CD input for one and a spare input for the other). There is probably an input assignment setting for each input like the CD input that tells the Onkyo if you are using an analog or digital connection. It is probably currently picking up the incoming digital/coaxial signal and not the analog/XLR signal.
I recommend you hook up the ERC-1 to the Onkyo only with the XLR cables and make sure you are using the analog signal flow thru the Onkyo (analog direct is best).
Hope this helps and is not confusing. ;D

I have the Onkyo Pro 885 and on that unit you must go in the set up and assign the xlr inputs to a source. I assigned my to aux2 and have no problems with it. I now have my USP-1 in service with the ERC-1 and I am able to toggle between the Onkyo 885 and the USP-1 to compare them. The USP-1 is a big step up in analog sound . It will not be going back.

I had the same issue with the Integra DHC-80.1. For the 80.1 there is a priority setting for which input to use. By default HDMI was set to the highest priority and even though my ERC-1 wasn't connected through HDMI, the preamp was looking for a signal via HDMI. On my remote there is an Audio button, once I pressed the Audio button, an on screen option displays that allowed me to choose the balanced connection. I'm not familiar with the Onkyo but I would bet there is a similar option since Integra and Onkyo are the same company.

I looked up the manual for your processor and it has the exact same Audio Button on the remote. From the manual Notes: • Tolistentothecomponentconnectedtothemulti- channel input or balanced input, press the

Thanks chuckienut, thomasd92, rebonick,
Thanks to your advice, but I already did most of instructions. After I wrote my question here, I had a chance to meet several SC5507 users. Found that they have exactly same problem. One of user raised an issue to Onkyo distributor a month ago, but there was no clear answer from them...

Sorry, after re-reading the GUEST post, I realized it was the same rant and only required one response from me. It must be the chocolate covered coffee beans I had for breakfast....
