Just received my UPA-7

:DJust received my UPA-7 and aim I happy. I ordered 12/30/2009, end of year sale for $599.00, I can not believe how much better my system sounds, both the UPA-7 and my Denon 4802AVR are rated at 125W X 7 @ 8 ohms. The Denon is Rated at 270 W X 2 @ 4 ohms the 4802 gets very warm at normal lessening levels, you can barley feel any heat from the UPA-7 at above normal lessening levels. I talked to customer service a few times before I ordered they recommended the UPA-7 with the 4 ohm speakers I have and I would not see any better performance with the X series and I would be very happy with the UPA-7. I’m glad I took there advice this thing is built like a tank I aim very impressed with the build quality, and $200 saving can go toward the UMC-1 (which I now have to get after seeing the amp) when it’s available until then I’ll use the 4802 as the pre-amp which works pretty good.

Room size is 21 X 24 X 7’ 10” speakers are offset about 5’ on the 24’ wall, cannot center them or put them on the 21’ wall. Good carpet and padding on Floor.

Congrats on the purchase. Those are very nice speakers that you are driving. Good to hear that the UPA is getting the job done!

Let us know what this amp does for the overall sound, I am considering adding an external amplifier for my PSB Imagine B's. I am looking for more control on the bass and mid bass, and hopefully it will deliver it with authority.

I have been away for a while. I think you would be more then happy with the UPA’s with the PSB Image B speakers. The more I lessen the more impressed I get with the quality of sound coming from my speakers, I here sounds in music and movies I never heard before. The sound improvement is over the complete range of sound not just bottom, middle or highs. This is the way the Synchrony’s should have sounded since I purchased them, if I never tried Emovita, I would have never have known how good my system could sound. Now I can not wait the UMC-1 to be shipped.

The UPA line of AMPs has always been over shadowed by the XPA series. I am still impressed by my UPA-7, it's no baby amp. It's a beast of an amp. Congrats and enjoy......

I got the TV in May 09, took a chance and purchased it on line from an EBay company out of California. Turned out to be one of the best company’s I ever purchased from on line, it was almost as good as Emotiva. I got the TV with a 3 year warranty 4748 + 80 in house shipping. The TV still amazes me so with this amp it’s like being at the movies.
