I've been looking at the ERC-1 for my cd player only set up. I have been wondering about the xlr balanced connection? I was curious as to why this is on the unit? I didn't note that they are on their for the separate home theatre gear. I am presuming it is for the reason of having a quiet noise free connection to... Any help, would be appreciated in understanding the rationale for it? thanks, mus_1

A friend of mine has a Sony CDP-XA7 cd player that has XLR's and he has his connected to his Audio Research preamp via this method.

So why not have the balanced outs on all of the emotiva gear? The pre's? I was thinking of adding either or both, the emo processor and 2 channel pre/cd player and maybe a 2 channel amp...(I already have the lpa-1....)
Unless, I missed something on the other emo components, it would make sense to have them on all of the emo gear...if it's on the cd player.
thanks for the reply's given.
