Got my XPA-3 today and after re-calibrating my system I played a couple parts from movies and it really enjoyed what I hear from my LCR spearkers (left surrounds to the Pio Elite 03txh... for now). While the movies that I put in were impressive (terminator salvation, Transformers 1 city fight scene). I REALLY like what I am getting from the XPA-3 for just 2 channel audio. I threw in some Metallica Master of Puppets album and cranked it, I don't think I've ever heard my fronts pack so much punch, especially the bass being so tight yet the highs being very crisp. Then I put in some Johnny Cash Silver album, Big Head Todd and the Monsters and Dream Theatre. I always thought they sounded good before and honestly the did, but now, it's like I'm hearing some very nice nuances to the songs that I didn't hear before and the lows sound so powerful. I never realized how muddied up they were before... Seriously, I though for a second that I screwed something up and my sub had engaged in 2 channel direct mode from my Pio transport. To quote Darth Vader: Impressive, most impressive. *edit: Just had to add that it really is great how cool this amp runs (I assume all of the emo amps run based on others comments). My AVR now is barely warm and it's been cranked to -13 for over 3 hours and the XPA-3 is cooler than the AVR. Gonna have to be bringing it down to normal listening levels soon, but even there, things just sound cleaner now.
