I have recently set up some older equipment in a spare room. I am running an Adcom amp and preamp with a Denon DCD-900 CD player. The speakers in the room are Klipsch Fortes.
Given the equipment is circa late 80s early 90s, I was wondering whether I would hear a significant improvement in sound playing normal CDs through the ERC-1 versus the Denon.
This room will most likely remain audio only.

I would say yes. I replaced an early 90's Sony CDP-X339ES with the ERC-1 and was amazed at the improvment in sound. I've enjoyed re-listening to all my cd's.
I sold the Sony and it was no slouch.
