Would it be possible to have the posts by Emotiva employees concerning the firmware updates put into a single thread that cannot be responded to?
Or just make threads in the announcements or News and updates section (again, without normal users responding to them)
23 pages on the current firmware thread, and there are important updates just mixed in there. It would be nice to just get the official updates back to back without having to deal with the chatter.
Thanks.

This is a great suggestion. I hate to have to search through pages of "crap" (together with some very worthwhile information) to find official communications. On the topic of official communications, I would like to thank Dan for the increased flow of information. I really appreciate that even when it is not the information I might have hoped for. Thanks Big Dan.

I agree that it is a fantastic suggestion.
In the mean time... A work around is to search for Dan and/or Lonnie read their latest posts, available by clicking on their name in the thread list.

This is a great idea. This has happened in many other threads as well about other products. Sometimes it can take 10 min of searching through endless pages of stuff just to find one post from Lonnie and the gang.

Yes, this would be a great addition. I don't have the best memory, so I'm always going back through threads trying to find certain posts from the Emo guys.

hmmm, good idea, just suggested this in the SW update thread, then found this!
One post edited by one person with a list of issues (and maybe any workarounds), software versions they were resolved in or expected to be resolved in or if they are design intent etc.
Would be so much easier to follow then the current mess.

i agree that this would be better than the current state, but just to be difficult - i would prefer something more like an emo managed wiki (or knowledge-base) to have emo employee info to be communicated in an orderly fashion. threads just always have a noisy way about them when humans get involved... and now to contradict myself - if emo had employee only threads, _and_ they took full advantage of editing existing posts (updating the employee threads if & when necessary instead adding lots of additional other replies) then this might turn into a pretty good approximation of what i had in mind (wiki/knowledge base). (forgive me if i'm paraphrasing tb123)

We are working on an expanded 'news' section at Emotiva.com for official news and updates, that will be updated more frequently.

Yes, with a list of known issues and what firmware fixes for example (ok I'm number 300 to ask that but maybe it will reach). ;D

Equally useful would be a search tool that allowed viewers to search a given thread for Emotiva staff posts only. This would be particularly helpful for the existing threads.

I say take such info and make a dedicated UMC-1 FAQ page under 'Support' on the main site.
If I'm ever looking for updates or general info on my electronics the Support page is the first place to look for factual information and/or software updates. From there I work my way into the forums for tips.

Yes that is a good idea. Keep it a no reply thread too if possible, then maybe Dan G can answer the most frequently asked questions, again in non reply posts. That is more professional and isnt so frustrating for them too. Any other questions could just be emailed to E or on separate post for technical problems.

It will be good if we have information about shipping. By example if someone let us know: We ship this week the pre-order placed on week of blabla bla...In this way we will know if we are close to have our units

By example if someone let us know: We ship this week the pre-order placed on week of blabla bla...In this way we will know if we are close to have our units holy crap batman! If they did that I predict 2 things. 1. a bunch of people very relieved about having to stop checking their inbox every 2 minutes to see whether they've received notification yet. (yes that's me, pre-order August 2008) 2. A riot. From people who supposedly entered the pre-order list in April 2008, so why are they shipping May units already and why haven't the poor April pre-order customer received his email notification yet, *slander, bitching & whining.... Aah well, it was a nice thought.

Trying to fragment the web audience in Emo's favor. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D What would your "one more thing" be. . .the Emo blue usb toaster?. . .oh I am salivating already! My prediction. . .one hell of a day for Emo & Apple fans!
