Based on the fact that the "official" thread has become a giant mess, can this be created sooner than later?
Thanks.

Great idea! I'll set this up on my next UMC-1 posting tomorrow. Thanks, Big Dan Since that "tomorrow" came and went, what should we expect now?

I won't tell you what you should expect but I expect that Dan or Lonnie will post something when they have something worth posting. I agree that it is not good business to say you will do one thing and then not follow through, but I also believe that we should not hang on every word we are given. We should expect another weekend filled with anticipation of what the next will bring from the EMO workshop. ;D I expect to have another few days of quirkiness with my UMC-1. I expect others who have no intention of buying a UMC-1 to get huffy about Emotiva's business practices and let everyone know about it. I expect almost just as many EMO fanboys to offer their frustration over the whiners. My $0.02

I expect that Big Dan will set up a thread. Wait just a minute...he did! Super - the wish has been granted.
Thanks Dan!
Mark (PS...anyone who whines that he was a couple days later than he said he would do this receives a complimentary virtual kick in the crotch...)

A mod needs to make that thread a sticky on top otherwise it will fall into the abyss.

Good point...I suspect that this will be taken care of... By the way, if you keep typing away useless posts at Emo in that posture, you will develop both carpal tunnel and some really bad back problems.

Someone should probably also "sticky" the new official thread, since without responses, it will drop off the front page.

This forum is such a pain sometimes, and honestly the fan-boys are getting more and more annoying.
I get a "virtual kick in the crotch" and get called a "whiner" because I express disappointment that Dan and others at Emo have made promises they didn't keep. WTF? I don't care if it's an hour, day, week or a month past the promised date. I believe that if you make a commitment, you should do your best to meet the commitment, or you should say something like, "sorry I can't meet my commitment, but here's what I'll do instead..." Meeting commitments is part of running a business, as is producing the best possible product (which is definitely a strong suit for emotiva).
I have similar disappointment regarding the lack of updated information about XMC. As I've said elsewhere, not that the public has a right to know, nor should Emo be required to tell us for any other reason. But, they said they would tell us before UMC is shipping, and they haven't.
By the way, I remain a huge fan of emotiva, but that doesn't mean I'll defend them no matter what.
Go ahead, flame away, fan boys!

I think we'll see far fewer updates from now on, for two reasons. First and foremost, the unforeseen incapability of Emotiva to keep those dates, whether it is their fault or not. Second, the constant bi#@ing that the "promises" were not kept.
No one had even heard of the USP-1 until it was out the door.
Its a double edged sword.
Call me a fanboy if you want, but as far as I can tell the only people that get ridiculed are the ones that constantly bash Emotiva, for no reason other than self gratification. Yes we all know there are problems what's the point of posting and posting and posting the same thing over and over and over.

I have been berated before....and I love Emotiva...I just don't like that it has taken almost 2 years since they said the UMC was around the corner and continued to dangle it in front of us......And no I am not trying to start anything here, I just think a few are extra sensitive about anything negative being said and they really do cause more harm than help for Emotiva. So I see myself as a fanboy of the product itself but not of the way they have brought things to market. Oh and I agree that there will be far less info upcoming products. If showing the development process worked well then I bet you would see major manufacturers do it....

I agree, it took way too long to come to fruition. And it was released with bugs, but I can (like many others here) look past that, and be happy with what is released (assuming the bugs will be fixed), and enjoy life.
Now off to call Emotiva to give them my CC info. Man I hope I get mine soon. The anticipation is killing me. ;D
