So what's the deal with the DMC-1 replacement/upgrade? Is there one in works? I can't seem to find any info...

Emotiva has indicated that one might be built in the distant future, but not to expect it for a while.

What about the UMC-1 as a replacement for the DMC-1? Has anyone done a side by side comparison of how it sounds in comparison to the DMC-1?

According to emotiva staff, the UMC-1 has better audio quality than the DMC-1

I've read that, but has anyone posted a comparison yet? I have a DMC-1 and I'm very curious to see what other DMC-1 owners think of the UMC. Perhaps, I'll have to order one to find out.

That is what the 30-day Evaluation period is for. You need to hear it in your own home with your gear to know if YOU think the UMC-1 sounds better than your current processor (DMC). Nobody knows how it will sound in your listening room; at best, they can only tell you how is sounds with their gear in their listening room... which may not sound the same as in your room. |

Yes, I understand that. All I'm looking for is anyone who could comment on how the UMC-1 sounded in comparison to THEIR DMC-1. I guessing though that most DMC-1 users are waiting for the XMC-1.
