In anticipation of the software release on Monday and a great expectation that there will be a LOT of questions about how EMO_Q is setting up the hardware.
Question 1 - Does EMO-Q use any of the settings already stored when it starts an auto calibration, or, is every calibration completely independent of previous calibrations?
Question 2 - The existing software says that all of my speakers are reverse phase except for the surrounds. This can't be correct! It also wants to set the crossover for the mains at 250Hz, the surrounds and subwoofer at 40 Hz. That is obviously incorrect. These setting issues may be fixed with the new software.
Question 3 - How would you make the decision regarding brick wall 24dB/oct v. 12 dB/Oct crossover settings?
Question 4 - The existing software did not attempt to equalize the subwoofer output. Is the new software the same way?

Question 1 - It will use it own settings each time you run it.
Question 2 - Lets hope so because it said my polarity was reversed on my surrounds. So unless the xpa-5 is wired wrong then EMO-Q is wrong.
Question 3 - I would pick the lowest frequency your speakers can handle and use the 24bd as long as your sub sounds good playing up to that frequency. If your sub only sounds good playing up to 40hz and your speakers can only go down to 80hz then go with the 12db and you should be able to blend them better.
Question 4 - Have only ran EMO-Q once and when I seen it was wrong I shut it off and manually EQed my system so don't know.

Just so that you aren't surprised
--- the socket on the microphone (that came with my UMC-1) does not fit a standard US tripod thread.
That means that you need to look for an adapter or figure out how you want to hold your microphone in place before you get ready to run EMO-Q setup.

They make inexpensive adaptors for 'Mike' to 'camera' thread adaptors. I have yet to check my included thread pattern with the UMC-1's calibration mike, so I am only guessing -- but with an educated guess. lol

RR That could be correct. It is, afterall, a mike. The thread is a fine pitch. Looks about the same dia as the coarse thread used for cameras.
I will probably just use double sided tape to hold the mike to my mini tripod.
