I know that this is the wrong place for this, but no one is viewing in the other areas. I got a pop up from the emotiva forum that said I won a $1000.00 walmart gift card. Does anyone know if this is legit?
Thanks and sorry for bothering anyone.

Yes, it's legit! And remember it also stated that you need to send me $50 to claim your prize! IITGTBTIPI - If It's Too Good To Be True It Probably Is

You might want to run a virus and spyware scan, I never have popups. If you're getting them here, you probably have something in your computer that is requesting (secretly) the popup. Beware of imitation virus and spyware programs, there are some out there that look legit, but are actually viruses. Here are some suggestions: Spybot Search and Destroy - www.safer-networking.orgAVG Antivirus - free.avg.com *If you don't already have a antivirus program, also make sure its updated. Malwarebytes - www.malwarebytes.orgYeah this should probably be moved to the green room.

Thanks, I did not do it. It was not a popup, it was a ad window on the forum web page. I am also running the new symantics corp edition. I think I am ok.

It's the company they're using to host the forum. It's ad free for a number of page views, and once the credits have run out, it starts showing ads again. Someone needs to feed the meter...or host and remake the forums elsewhere...
