I understand that each time one changes the volume, a volume bar pops up on the screen, which can´t be disabled. I suggested to Emotiva to change this in a future firmware upgrade and want to know your opinions. For me it is an absolute no-no when each time I adjust the volume during a movie, the bar appears in the picture. When i have guests for example, I do not want to let them know each time I change the volume. When a movie is running, I do not want to see anything on the screen except the movie. If Emotiva would e.g. include the volume bar in the option to disable the popup, each user could decide for himself how he/she likes it.

Of course it should be defeatable - you can tell with your ears (well the folks listening to the audio) if it has changed and a volume OSD can be distracting at times - I would even vote for a separate remote code to enable/disable it. You could then for example have it switching on for TV etc. and off for movies or whatever.

I agree, this would be nice, but not a deal breaker.

Toggle? Possibly.
Removed? No way. This is one of the best things compared to my old system. I like setting the volume at a level, not guessing. I can't see the front of my UMC, so the onscreen is great.

I think he means (as do I) toggled - obviously it is nice to have as well. So no, not removing it, but allowing it to be set on/off at will (or at least in the options).

Hmmm - you can turn it off on the LMC-1. You can't o nthe UMC? Yet one more disappointment.

There's a setting for disabling popups. It would be nice if that disabled the volume too.
I too would hate to have that come up every time I change the volume.

I think they should be independent. Some folks (myself included) would like no pop-ups but with volume display and possibly the other way around.

I was an early advocate for "no on screen volume display," but now that I've used it, I like it.

This is why you have variable transparancy. You set it to max. and it is VERY discrete.
Elegant in fact...

I love that it has variable transparancy. And it certainly is elegant!
However, I can see others' point and it would be good to have a choice of not seeing it at all. By no means a deal-breaker but it would be nice.

I guess we could always turn of the OSD totally. (Right?)
