I tried to search a few times but it always failed, so apologies if this has been covered already...
Does the UMC-1 have the seemingly standard loud clicking sounds/delay when changing source types?

I would call it more of a "pop" than a click. Yeah it's there, but I wouldn't say it's loud.
Mine will also pop sometimes when the audio kicks back in after fast forwarding or rewinding a program.

I don't hear any clicking or popping on mine. Are you talking about audio locking in, a relay clicking or what? Is it coming from your speakers or UMC-1.

Sorry, I was not talking about speaker popping (although I would want to know if that was happening. I think it is the relays that you hear clicking as you change from source to source with a lot of mainstream processors. Specifically when you go from digital to analog and back. I just wanted to know if that is prevalent with the UMC. I was also looking at the latest Onkyo pre-pro and apparently it is quite obvious.

I was referring to a pop that comes from the speakers. I don't think I've noticed any clicking coming from the UMC itself.

Not to worry if you get a UMC-1 you will not hear a relay clicking when the audio changes formats. But if you want that get a Onkyo receiver and you can hear click click click. Then you can go into the menu and set your format to one choice and then you will reduce your clicking. ;D

FW updates are very simple via the web and Audyssey works as advertised (sorry couldn't resist) ;D. Bill

No clicking when changing inputs. The only clicking in my system is the XPA-5 turning on and off. The UMC-1 is silent.
