I am having HDMI handshake issues since the firmware upgrade. I have an Intel G45 motherboard w/ a ASUS Xonar HDAV Slim 1.3 for bitstream audio. It was working with the original firmware as far as being able to switch inputs, turn proj, UMC on/off, and locking back onto the HDMI/HDCP source to display and giving me picture and sound. After the update, it DOES NOT gracefully sync up. Sometimes pulling the Proj cable will get it to sync, sometimes not. Switching inputs sometimes works, sometimes not. And the not times are much more common than the "it worked!" times. Can I have the old firmware back? It had it's issues, but at least it was useable.
Anyone else seeing this??
Thanks, Rick

Check your HDMI card for the PC - make sure latest drivers are installed. Just a suggestion ;D

Yeah, been through all that. I found that if I forgo the HD audio provided by the Xonar and go directly from the HDMI on the Motherboard to the UMC-1, it seems to work better. So it seems as though it is between the Xonar and the UMC-1 that it is breaking down. The thing is, it worked fine before the UMC-1 update.
With the olympics starting today, I am going to not do too much to get the HD audio back right now, but I would of course like this to work at least as well as it did pre-update!!
Thanks, Rick

No one else is running this setup? If you are, and working or not, let's talk!
Thanks, Rick

I am not running a pc setup, but audio ripped to my ps3 slim that is running in bitstream mode is now messed up and it worked fine before the firmware update. the first song works fine but if I skip to the next by the third song the audio is gone and is replaced by a brief crakling noise then silence. Not sure if the two problems are related but they could be.

I have a similar HTPC with the Asus card and the GIGABYTE GA-E7AUM-DS2H mb and I'm not having any problems syncing up. I use the SiliconDust HDHomeRun dual tuner but I don't have a projector. I have a Toshiba 52" DLP. I did the firmware update today and upon changing channels the audio locks right in immediately. Movies (DTS MA & True HD, etc.) also seem to be working wonderfully. The problem may be something else. Maybe it's the comunication with the projector or some other setting?

Just found the LPCM problem! The only problem locking on to the audio track that I'm having is with Multi channel LPCM. Found this with David Gilmore's Remember That Night Bluray. When ever I fast forward the UMC-1 comes up displaying that it's playing multi ch LPCM but no audio. Sometimes rewinding a little and then playing will get it back but more often I have to switch to a different input and then back to get audio again. Hope this can get fixed soon by firmware! But it does sound great! Other sound tracks like DTS MA and True HD lock right on.

I was able to "lock" my projector's input to HDMI only, and it now works like a champ! Apparently before the UMC could sync, the proj would switch inputs trying to find a valid source. I thought it was a UMC-1 issue since it worked pretty well before the firmware update.

So are you going to change the thread's title so the trolls won't have something to feed on?

I tried, but it only changed the title of the single post - how can I do that?
