I noticed last night while playing music files from the hard drive of my Playstation 3 that every time I tried to rewind, fast forward or pause a song, the UMC seemed to lose the connection or something, because the music wouldn’t come back on. The ONLY way to make the music return was to exit out of the file and then go back and replay it. The display of the UMC-1 read “176.4khz 2 ch”.
To try and diagnose the problem, I went into the music settings of the PS 3 and changed the output frequency from “44.1/ 88.2/ 176.4khz” to “48khz” and that seemed to fix the problem. Honestly I don’t even know what output frequency means, but do you have any idea why the output frequency would be freaking the UMC out?

From the PS3 site You can upsample the sampling frequency of music content to output audio at 88.2 or 176.4 kHz. The following conditions are required to output audio at 88.2 kHz or 176.4 kHz. - The audio device in use supports a sampling frequency of 88.2 kHz or 176.4 kHz.
- [Linear PCM 2 Ch. 88.2 kHz] or [Linear PCM 2 Ch. 176.4 kHz] is selected when either [HDMI] or [Digital Out (Optical)] is set under (Settings) > (Sound Settings) >
Is it possible that the UMC-1 does not support this sampling frequency? Perhaps someone from EMO can chime in on this.
