Definitely not cool to buy something that people are waiting for just to re-sell for a profit. I hope this guy ends up losing a few buttons off his shirt (if not the entire shirt).

The guy should have asked for more than $799. I bet someone would pay $999 for it.

That's capitalism at its finest, buy low sell high, especially something that's short in supply but high in demand.

I got my email the other day and its not the best time for me to buy but I hate to pass out of fear that the price will go up! That's my worry as well. I am hoping I will get my e-mail later, rather than sooner, just so I am sure to have the money ready to go. What happens if say, I get my e-mail tomorrow saying that I am good to order but I will not actually have the money up until next month? Do I just lose my place in line and get put at the end? I would have no problem with that, BTW. Or would I lose my place in line AND the special introductory price? The second option would suck. I REALLY want one of these but I NEED to get it at the best price possible.

I can't imagine they will hold your place and price if you don't have the money. I would imagine you lose your place in the pre-order and will have to buy when it is available for general sale at what ever price they determine then.

That's what Emotiva gift vouchers and credit cards are for I think. At least that seems to be where my money goes.

Sounds reasonable to me.On another note, the buyer must not follow billm's post across the world wide web.

Many here are starting to wonder why threads here on the Lounge get bogged down with endless bickering and such then get locked out. But its posts like the one above from you that gets it all started . If you have a problem with me or my posts why not send me a PM and take it offline? Bill

My guess is the comment was directed at the buyer of the gear - i.e. the buyer not reading this thread/Bill's post?
It's very easy to post throw away comments that could use some commas for better definition that can get picked up wrong by the reader.
The person who wrote it should clarify what they meant though.

Perhaps this UMC-1 will become the next Wii.... where availability and free market forces usurps the MSRP???

It's not like it is rice and half the world is starving...this is a luxury item that is in high demand. If someone is willing to pay a premium to get one now, then by all means, take advantage. Maybe I should sell mine...
