Has anyone had any experience with HTD, the level 3 speakers in particular? I've read nothing but encouraging things, but, there really isn't much info, no reviews etc.

Hey Larry. I have some of their in-wall speakers I have been using for my rear surrounds and they sound great. My old neighbors bought some level 2 or 3 a generation back and they were very happy with the sound. Big Movie Buffs. All I can say is they do make quality products and are very nice folks to boot. I think their return policy is good too....hope that helps a bit.

It's nice to hear it from a source like this forum. I will definitely give them more consideration.

I have 2 sets of their inwall speakers and a pair of their outdoor speakers and have been pleased. They are fine for "music in the kitchen". They sound clear and their quality was fine. I visited them in Texas one time when I was in town and they were friendly and happy to let me hear everything (that was a few years ago so I can't comment on the sound of their other speakers). While their sound is good, it's not something that I'd rave about and tell everyone you "have to hear these". For the money - they are a good quality product, good customer service, no complaints. A definite significant step up from the usual Best Buy fare, but not high-end blow your mind stuff When I meet someone can't swing the Emos, HTD is my next recommendation.

I was wondering if the Level 3 HTD's would be comparable to the EMO speakers. From what you're saying, I guess not then. Could you say in what ways the HTD's fall short?

I can't say - I haven't heard them. Just can comment based on the sound from their inwalls...
My sister bought a set of Level 3s for her (now) ex-husband and they loved them. But I never heard them to know...
