I'm curious if anyone else is experiencing this or maybe has a recommendation. I can watch a blu-ray movie just fine. Blu-ray connected to UMC connected to projector (through a hdmi to DVI adaptor). But once I shut down the projector and try listening to sacd through hdmi, there's no sound coming through....unless I unplug the hdmi out. then it works. if i shut down with the rear switch, when i turn the umc back on it just displays "Emotiva" and seems to be locked up....until i unplug the hdmi out. have i mentioned i hate hdmi? any suggestions? this projector is hdcp compliant. so i basically keep my hdmi out unplugged until i want to watch a movie, though i still have to switch the inputs a couple of times to get the audio signal locked in from my sony sacd player. I've tried changing the sacd hdmi video settings to "none", but this appears to also disable the hdmi audio.

It may depend on many things, such as the projector, the source machine, and maybe some settings in the UMC. First, I'm going to suggest setting the "forward audio to TV" option to OFF. That's what I have and my PS3 will play audio just fine. I turned it on without the TV on first. Maybe never turning on the projector when turning on the source will help.
Also, make sure the HDMI control settings are disabled. I forget what they're called, but they automatically send signals over the HDMI to tell other devices to turn on. Had an issue at a friend's house where turning on the blu-ray player automatically made the TV turn on. Extremely annoying when all you want to do is listen to music.

thanks for the suggestion. i turned hdmi audio out off. still the same issue - shut off my projector and the umc locks up. reboot umc and it will still not lock on to sacd through hdmi unless i unplug the hdmi out cable, then music plays.
