I am using my Rat shack SPL meter to check the flatness of the response curve for my sub after EmoQ did its thing. I have a huge spike at 40 and big null at 40. It looks like EmoQ tried to correct this by putting the trims for the 40s down and boosting the 50s. However, when I attempt to adjust them, there is no change in SPL for that Hz. In other words, I am using REW to generate a sine wave exactly at the Hz of the trim (like 44 or something), but even when I take it from +10 to -10 on the manual EQ adjustment, the SPL meter stays rock solid, no change in SPL level....am I missing something? Shouldnt those change the db level for that particular hz?

You are probably inputting your sw into the 7.1 input ports (thats about the only way to input signals directly so that you can equalize each channel!) Well, bass management and equalization don't make any difference on those channels.
You can send L & R signals into ports like analog1 and then directly adjust the equalization parameters. For some reason, I wasn't able to do that with the 7.1. Sure would be nice if they added a mode so that we could manually equalize the equipment.

Nope. REW was inputting from the laptop --(mini to RCA cable)--->analog input 1. That channel would be affected by EQ i would imagine...

Have you assigned that eq to that input? Have you tried any of the speaker eqs? This is one of the reasons I sent mine back for repair, no matter what I did it never affected the sub eq. The speaker eqs worked but not the subwoofer.

I'm setting up REW so I can eventually do exactly what your trying to do. This needs to work. So your generating subwoofer freqs from your laptop into analog 1? You can adjust the higher freqs but not the sub ones?? What mode is that input set to?? (i.e. stereo, direct, etc...) Are the crossovers set?? Can you generate a pink noise signal so you can view it real time on the laptop?? Then you can adjust any trim you want and you should see an immediate response on the plot...

I'm curious also if you find a cure. The have had mine in for repair since Monday. I called on Friday and they were still working on it. They said it should ship this coming week. I hope this problem is solved on mine if not it goes back for good.

This is is not resolved. I called and they said that my system for testing this sound have produced a noticeable change in db level for a particular trim level so something isn't working. They said that they are looking into it. I suppose we will have to wait for a firmware rev
