Kinda stumped here. I have a Sony BDP S-550. I want to use one of my test discs (Avia) to set levels on my speakers. I'm using analog outs from the player, so I have to set the levels there.
Anyhow, I don't see how to do this. The speaker settings are in the Blue Ray players "setup" menus. You can't seem to actually play a dvd and go into the setup at the same time.
I think other players do this similarly, so how are people using analog outs from a player using a Test disc to set levels?
I'm stumped! Tks.

You use the volume control on your receiver or pre-amp to set the volume levels.

I see what the OP is asking, I don't have a 550, but he has to set the gain/crossovers in the player (using the analog outs), how do you do that when most BD players don't allow the disk to be playing while in the setup menu?
I guess you could go back and forth. Adjust something, then play the disk, then stop the disk, re-adjust, play the disk, etc... But that sounds like a PITA.
Sorry I don't have an answer for you, mine is connected via HDMI, so all my speaker settings are within the UMC.
