I want to connect the XLR sub output to my sub via RCA.
Someone here posted a pic and link of a web page selling an XLR-RCA adaptor. I've searched and cannot find it. I think it might have been a link to monoprice (yet I've looked through their site and still can't find it!).
Note: I can find XLR-RCA cables but really need an adaptor.
Thanks...

Any decent pro audio site will have them. I just googled "xlr rca adapter" and was flooded with suitable results. Just make sure you get the correct gender on both ends of the adapter.

He said the just needed an adapter, so I assume he already has the cable. But thanks for the link, I may look into this for my set up.

Hemster, I read your post and thought, crap!, will I need one of those too? Then looked at the pic of the UMC back panel and saw that there is an RCA sub out jack. Just curious why you wanted to go XLR to RCA with your UMC?

I think Emotiva should stock an adapter.

Thanks everyone.
I did a Google search and found the same Hosa adapter shown above by jmilton. The Hosa products are rather industrial looking but I'm sure would do the job.
The one that someone had posted before was a nice looking adapter in black with gold-plated endings. I know that I'm being fussy here but it frustrates me that I saw it here and didn't bookmark it. And now I can't find it. I may have to succumb using to the Hosa adapter after all.

playbass, I need to use the XLR->RCA feed my sub because I want to use the other RCA output to feed my Buttkicker amp.

Thanks kazoo. This is not the one I saw before but it is nicer looking than the Hosa, IMHO.

It would want to come with a "free" bottle of Dom Perignon for that price! Ouch!

I have two subs, would it be of any benefit to use the RCA for one of them, and the Balanced for the other? That is over just using a Y adapter off of the RCA output?

Using a Y adapter on any Emotiva product will work without degradation because all of the Output connections are buffered. You may be too new to have seen Lonnie's post where he stated that you can connect up to 5 separate devices to a single output via Y adapters.

Careful when using the Y-adapter. That's what I have and for some weird reason, unless the 2 cables are physically touching, my subs hum like a MF'er. I had to zip tie the cables to hold them together. If they ever come apart, man do you know it. I'm not sure why, and it's probably just something weird with my setup but I thought I'd give you the head's up.

A Y-adapter split from the RCA output and I have no issues with my sub and Buttkicker amp. Although maybe if I connect 2 subs I might. So it could be the wires or something causing that hum. Try a different wire, or try each connection 1 at a time to isolate the problem. I remember Lonnie had posted that these outputs are buffered and can be split several times. It's just that the XLR output is there and I feel I should use it! Or maybe just wait for one of the brand new Emo subs and use an XLR connection to it!
