dyhon, You should not have a multi-second delay when changing channels! Something is going on. Please call us Monday and we'll get to the bottom of it for you. As I mentioned earlier today, the best way to get answers and solutions to your questions/problems is to call us or contact us directly. We'll get to the bottom of your problem for you. My UMC-1 has none of the issues being reported in this thread, which is why I was trying to encourage "aircav" to call on Monday! David

Quick follow up.
As I wrote yesterday I did continue to work with the UMC-1 yesterday. And even to some extent today. Unfortunately I have made the decision to return it to Emotiva. Those of you who were kind enough to follow my posts and make suggestions I thank you for the time you took to do so. I read every suggestion and comment closely.
I do not know if the unit I received was at fault or the capabilities did not match my need or I was not capable of setting it up properly, I considered all the possibilities. In the end, even when it seemed to be working I still had lag in switching between channels and feeds, I had audio drop outs, changes to settings, etc. I suspect I had a defective unit.
Since I am leaving on a two week business trip to London next week, it isn't worth the time to send this one back and get a new unit right now and start all over gain.
Needless to say I am very disappointed as I had high hopes for the unit. I will of course continue to frequent the Emotiva Lounge and follow the progress of the UMC-1, the XMC, etc

aircav...there's a 30 day return policy on all Emo products. Given you just got it last Thursday & it does not appear you have called Emo to talk through any questions w/them...why not wait until you get back from London, call them to talk through issues, and if they can resolve them - then return it? I understand the disappointment...but, what if there is something simple they can resolve? And if it is defective, they would resolve it for you.
