Obviously not scientific but I'd like to see how many people are happy with their unit and how many aren't. You can also select 2 options to help expand your feelings. I've been dying to get this unit, but not being from the US does complicate things a little.
Thanks everyone.

I guess the question is - how much time and effort is one willing to spend setting it up and potentially debugging it? It is designed to manage complex tasks in an unpredictable environment (as far as other equipment goes) The other equipment does use standards in connectivity, power, playback, etc

Good to see that there hasn't been any votes for "would not buy again". Hopefully I can get some more feedback going on. I think it could be a good resource for people who are on the fence.

After looking over the forum I am a little depressed. Is everyone having problems with the umc1?? Or is just the 10% or so of emo owners that post here having problems?...... Looking at the tracker form is not fun either.

Fugsworth there are only 28 user votes in this poll. Really there have probably been hundreds of units sold I dont think everyone who has bought an Emotiva product is on the forum posting their likes and dislikes. Use your own judgement though and consider what you really want. I foresee the UMC only improving on what issues there has been.

I think it's like any forum, people who are happy don't post. People who have some issues are going to post and complain. It's human nature really. That's why I wanted to add the poll feature so we could hopefully get a better representation of what's going on.

So far 49 users votes and only one would not buy again. Out of these, how many units do you think Emo has sold so far in total?

No offence but this only represents the people who come here on a regular basses and or a few others with issues I`m suer there are many that never come here because there happy with there UMC and of course others that simply call tech support I bet there are way more good then bad other wise I would not think Emo would be moving forward on the XMC for a “ESTIMATED” shipping date of Jun/July IMHO

None taken, although I do think it's a better representation of what's going on than just going by all the posts in the forum.

I believe that Emotiva has got sort of a community here and that lessens the negativity a bit and in fact many of the comments have been about observations on the operation and performance of the UMC-1 in peoples homes. For example, early performance comments and calls to customer service led to a software update, so many benefited from that.
I will be curious to see of there are subsequent updates

Im sure there will be regular updates, in fact that is one of the things I absolutely love with PS3. They are constantly improving it via automatic firmware updates, and it isnt just to fix things its to make it better and with more features. I wish Emotiva could do wifi, maybe someday it will be implemented in their processors.

I think the XMC-1 will have streaming capabilities. Dunno if it'll have a wifi radio in it or if they'll offer a wifi USB dongle...
