That is actually a great way to put it. I definately agree. BTW, what mod did you do to your XQ20's? They are nice speakers. Replaced the xcover board with a custom one featureing matched parts from Sonicap and Mills....plus some higher end posts and buss bars...Just did a trade too.....my 906, for a set of XQ10's. I consider the 10's and 20's the best monitors available for under $2k and $1k respectively. Midrange and treble is unequaled for the price, even stock, with Usher 718's a close 2nd. Very cool. Got any pics of your upgrades? They are great speakers and I found out I can get these from one of our usual distributors so I was kind of interested.

Yeah, I was planning on posting some pics of the upgrade process with the 10's which will undergo the same process that the 20's underwent. It will be posted under the DIY section most likey within the next 4-5 weeks. If your in a small room or you listen at the nearfield position and have bookshelves for em I recommend the 10's with a musical capable sub. Larger room with stands or you want your sub to play a half octave lower go with the 20's. The 10's have a bit better midrange, the 20's have a bit more low frequency extension.

If you have the ability to get em at distributor cost I would do it without hesitation. THey have the ability to floor you with a good high end sub. I would take my 20's and a D15SE over my old Revel Salons, Wilson Watt Puppies or old JM Labs Nova Utopia BE's any day of the week regardless of price. The UniQ driver array has always been one of my favorite point source driver thats phase and time aligned and the new redesigned Aluminum tweeter with the wave guide is probably the best metal based tweeter I have ever heard, I actually prefer it over the Reference model tweeter. It is silky smooth like a soft dome tweeter, but has the extra extension you get with some of the new exotic Beryllium/diamond tweeters. Well worth it.
