It's all well and good for local USA/Canadian customers to call you easily...
Now that UMC-1's are starting to ship internationally, is it possible that you have a Skype number/ID that we can use from outside the USA to reduce the cost of support calls.
Its it already hard enough that we will be having to call in the middle of the night here in Asia without having to weigh in the cost of international phone calls.
I am not sure if the 877 # is toll free or not but if it is maybe Skype can be used to call it or at least Skype Out $ could certainly reduce international support costs for all concerned.
Hoping there will also be a new FW update before it ships and that all international shipments will be very thoroughly tested to ensure all known tests are done to determine correct operations are carried out too. We cant just RMA a box back without a lot shipping cost issues and import/export tax issues too.

I just checked rates and found lots of quotes for about $.11 US a minute for Singapore to USA. That's $3.30 for a half an hour call. sounds pretty reasonable to me.
Unless my time is off, when The Emo office opens at 8:00am it is 10:00pm in Singapore. That would give you an hour to call presuming you have to go night-night at 11:00pm. If you can stay up until midnight then you would have two hours. If you get up at 6:00am that would give you an hour before they close. That doesn't sound all that bad.

I'm thinking not just about Singapore here..plenty of places that maybe able to benefit from such savings. Even for US based support ...i.e. show me the menus as you use the system, and anyone with a camera that can be pointed at the screen while online with support with visual feedback of whats going on - seems like win win if you ask me. The bigger issue is RMA related. You guys that are US based have it so easy for RMA's and 30 day returns...we international clients have a little more to worry about on our purchases. Nice to see you back on the forums chuckienut...missed ya there for a bit

An Emo Skype account (or one for sales, two for support) seems reasonable.
I pay about US$30/year for unlimited North America. But I pay about 0.20 cents/min to a couple of places in Asia. I use Skype when I call Emo sales or support.

You guys that are US based have it so easy for RMA's and 30 day returns...we international clients have a little more to worry about on our purchases. Yeah, but you have much better Chinese food over there. ;D
