Man this is an excellent little but not lite amp! Very detailed while providing a smooth sound. It replaces an older Kenergetics (Chiro C-200; $1000.00) with equivalent power ratings but the UPA sounds louder and much better with clearer voicing in the midrange. I am using this for another zone to power my outdoor Klipsch in-ceiling speakers (3 pairs). These are run in parallel giving approximately a 2.7 ohm load to the amp. I spoke to Emotiva (Nick) about this and he warned against it given their 4 ohm minimum. I assured him I would not play these very loud as my neighbors would evict me. Given the older Chiro was pulling the same duty I opted to try it. It is running all 3 pairs with ease and is only lightly warm to the touch. Kudos to Emotiva for building such a product at a price point that seems impossible!
After the experience with the XPA-5 and now the UPA-2 I opted to get the UPA-5 for a receiver in another room. Well done Emotiva!
