Have a PS3 "fatty" that I was using for BR playback. Decided to get a dedicated BR player. Enter the Oppo bdp-80. I could not be happier with the PQ and SQ of this unit. Was definitely a nice improvement over the PS3. Here's my question. With the PS3, it "forced" 24fps. When I set the UMC to 1080P/60 or Auto the TV display would only be 60fps. But it would display 24fps on "Pass." I figured this was because the PS3 "forced" this setting. Hooked up the Oppo and I can still ONLY get 24fps on "Pass" . I have a Samsung 650 series LCD TV that I know easily handles 24fps. So what gives here? I really see no PQ difference between having the UMC set at 1080/60 and "Pass". And I wouldnt mind just leaving it on "Pass" for BR playback. But since the UMC video settings are global, I would have to manually switch the video setting to 1080/60 every time I switched the input to Cable. Anyone with an Oppo find a work around for this nuisance? Maybe Emotiva will have to get cracking on unlocking the "global" video settings of the UMC or maybe have discrete codes that could be selected when the Inputs are switched, dont know if thats possible??

This has been reported quite a bit. Check and see if it is in the bugs list yet.
