Does anyone know if the recommended distance to place the ERD-1? I read that it says about 6 ft from the ground but is it to the bottom of the speaker or the center of the tweeter?
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

there is not much difference between bottom of speaker and center of tweeter. Sides/Surrounds are not as critical on height... if it's off a few inches, you'll never notice

As long as it's somewhat above ear level when you're seated in your sweet spot. I think more important is the distance from you in the sweet spot - ideally it should match the distance of the fronts.

Approximately, the bottom of the ERD-1 should be about 1-2 feet above your ears, but not closer (top of the speaker) than 1-2 feet from the ceiling (same goes for the side of the speaker from any corner). As mentioned above these are guidelines. More importantly, is that the ERD-1's should be on the side wall about equal distance from the front and rear wall as is your your main seat (90 degrees to the side, versus one or two feet back from the seat for direct radiating side side speakers). Also, it is important to set the bipole/dipole toggle switches as stipulated in the ERD-1 owner's manual. If it must be on the rear wall then same guidelines and set toggles as directed in owner's manual.
