Sorry, can't help you much there, I'm only using the 30 amp models myself. * By the way, did you receive your "Two Weeks Free Stay" at the LOTR's Mansion, with your FREE Air return plane ticket for two, with all meals and beverages included, plus FREE transportation courtesy of Jaguar XJS car accomodation, confirmation by the mail just yet?

i know a user at another forum who uses those. my personal idea of a receptacle for my HT gear is that it should do 2 things, provide power and as much protection as possible for my gear. here is the receptacle i have in my own HT. it's a leviton model 8380-IG type TVSS, HG receptacle. www.fruitridgetools.com/storefrontprofiles/processfeed.aspx?sfid=136763&i=180650586&mpid=8171&dfid=1 it gives me the max protection that a receptacle can. i also recommend if possible to put your HT gear on a dedicated circuit. if that's not possible then, in either case i highly recommend these receptacles. a great price and you also have me a master electrician recommending and using them not just in installations for others but in my own home for my own gear!

Stick with anything marked hospital grade and you will do just fine!! Sounds quite HEALTHY to me. * Seriously though, just a good normal AC outlet would do.

Nice link, solarrdadd. While the blue looks nice, I also found the traditional white version for those who need to satisfy any WAF requirements! www.leviton.com/OA_HTML/ibeCCtpItmDspRte.jsp?item=499298§ion=28319&minisite=10026I'll be starting my home theatre build sometime next year and was wondering how many of these would one realistically need or what would be the best way to future proof your install? I guess a better question would be which products would you want to connect to these outlets (Amps, Projector etc) as someone with a XPA-5 versus someone with 5 XPA-1's would probably want different numbers of these outlets?

I guess a better question would be which products would you want to connect to these outlets (Amps, Projector etc) as someone with a XPA-5 versus someone with 5 XPA-1's would probably want different numbers of these outlets? not sure how to answer the "future proof" part but i will tell you what i did and what i recommend. i installed one of these duplex receptacles in your link for all of my gear. it is connected to a dedicated 125v 20a circuit using #12awg wire and connected to a 20a circuit breaker in the panel. this ensures no other gear interfers with the loading capacity or the voltage of this circuit. it will keep down on noise in the line as this is the only receptacle on that circuit so i don't have to worry about the microwave, the blender or anything else that will disrupt quality power to my gear. in that duplex i have two things plugged into it. at the bottom i have a UPS connected directly to the outlet and connected to the UPS is a surge type plug strip that everything i have except amps gets plugged into it. the UPS serves two purposes, one, i have a RPTV and it requires 30 - 45 seconds of fan runtime when shut down (that would include power outages) to protect the lamp with the UPS i can ensure i get that runtime. the second thing is it provides clean conditioned power to everything plugged into the surge type strip. i use that strip because it has about 10 outlets on it for gear and makes it nice. on the top half of the duplex i have a 3 - 1 plug adapter (get them at lowes, a triple header one plug, short cord with 3 receptacles on it) plugged into the receptacle and my two amps go directly into that not using the UPS the XPA-5 & UPA-2 have plenty of built in protection so i plug them directly in the wall. that's how i do it and have had no problems. if you can and need to, (because the amount of gear you have or expect to have in the near future) i recommend running a power cable with 12/3 so that you can have two dedicated 20a circuits in a two ganged box with 2 of those receptacles in it. this will allow for plenty of power and future growth. each connected to their own dedicated 20a circuit breaker. the one i use is actually orange, but, i do own some blue ones and have one of them connected to the circuit for my basement office gear and mini HT gear in that office. if i might, i have included a link to my gallery and if you look carefully you will see the orange receptacle installed (you gotta look hard) i am very happy with what i have done for my gear with these types of receptacles. hope I answered your question, if not let me know and i'll try to make sure i do. www.blu-ray.com/community/gallery.php?member=solarrdadd
