I am thinking about upgrading to the ERT. 8.3's. Would my UPA-7 have plenty of power to push the bad boys?

to what level.....?
If your really wanting to "push" them I'd suggest something in the X-Series.....

Well I play my music pretty loud sometimes, but not all the time. As long as it would sound good at a good volume level, would be ok. It would be a good chunk of change to buy the 8.3's and a new x series amp.

The Emotiva ERT-8.3 is not a difficult load to drive. The UPA-7 should be just fine for most residential setups. The big question here is how big your listening room is. The efficiency rating of these speakers is 89, if memory serves me, which happens to be "average". Of course, the ERT-8.3 speakers are capable of playing at ear-bleeding volume levels without a hint of distress.
Emotiva often demo's the 8.3s connected to the XPA-1 mono-block amplifiers and maintains exceptional clarity at all volume settings. On the "Bang for the Buck Scale" the ERT-8.3 is one of the best bargains of any speaker on the market. Congrats on your purchase -- you are about to enter sonic nirvana. ;D ;D ;D
