Who's got the oldest Emotiva amp that has NOT required any repair (by Emo, owner, or technician)? Some folks in other forums are questioning the reliability of Emo amps. I want to prove them wrong. They're wrong, are they not? My oldest Emo no-repair amp is a UPA-7 bought in December 2009.

LPA-1 bought Nov 2007, no issues, no repairs, gets used daily.

How about a MPS-1 from 2005? Is that old enough? I am not sure when the Emotiva branded product started, but I am sure that there are many amps from that time frame that have never needed service. About three years ago, Lonnie posted the failure rate of their amplifiers and it was less than half of the industry's failure rate. It is rare that an owner posts having their Emotiva amps serviced; and most of those are dead on arrival. It amazed me how seldom owners have reported needing service on their amps.

Same old people are scared of the unknown thing, They're just pissed other people are getting quality electronics at prices way less then what they paid.

Well, it's not the oldest here, and it's not just an amp, but my DMR-1(recently retired) has been going since early 2008. Not one problem of any kind. Just great sound. I'm giving it to a family member soon for Christmas, without any worries. I loved that thing.

What usually goes bad on SS amps and how would I know if it happened (short of a catastrauphic failure)?
BTW, bought an XPA-2 used from 2009 (I think) and an XPA-5 in February this year.

From the review it didn't sound like that great of an amp compared to the XPA series and especially the soon to arrive XPR series. I'm sure it had its benifits, especially back in the day.

Some people didn't like it, but the same goes for any piece of gear I guess. I think a lot has to with the dynamic sound and bass slam of the X series compared to class H amps.

From the review it didn't sound like that great of an amp compared to the XPA series and especially the soon to arrive XPR series. I'm sure it had its benifits, especially back in the day. It is a shame that LOTR picked the only negative review I found when I was shopping for the MPS-1. All the other reviews were very positive. As a matter of fact, Audioholics.com reviewed the MPS-1 and gave it a very detailed review; and later in the year they selected the MPS-1 as the Best Power Amp of 2005. Audioholic's review was balanced and discussed all of the "odd" measurements that the other review found lacking. Gene did an excellent job of investigating and explaining what was happening. If interested in his review click on the link below. www.audioholics.com/reviews/amplifiers/emotiva-mps-1After reading this review you will see why so many reviewer and owners thought the MPS-1 to be an exceptional power amp.

Well Ronnie, I was just googling around and came across that review from UltimateAV. It was not my intention to find the "worst" review around, but to simply share whatever I find about older Emotiva amps.
I am very well aware about Gene's review, but that one was reviewed much later on (modified).
So, a "shame"? NO, not at all friend, just sharing that's all. Reviews are just that; a review by one individual, no more! It is up to the intelligence of members to decide for themselves if the review was fair or not!
=> Me, personally, I was very impressed by the review from Gene at Audioholics, and I did mention that before. ...As well other reviews of Emotiva products not only by Audioholics but also by Secrets... Which the majority of the members here are very well aware of.
Now, you know... {I was just googling mainly from oldest dates, and wanted to share, regardless of the "SHAME" of that particular review.}
Regards, Bob

Bob, I think he was just referring to the fact that, that review didn't do the MPS any justice is all. It wasn't a "shame on you" type of post at all.

Bought my RPA-1 in October 2007. No problems and I think as highly of it today as the day I first plugged it in. So go ahead and make my day.

I'm sure you do. That's not the type of amp that somebody uses for just a few months. More like years and years.

I have had my IPS-1 and BPA-1 since 2/21/2008 and had no problems ever and there on 14 hours a day every day
