I SUCK at the drums, mostly because friend that come over take charge and play them. But I think I am going to have to start playing a little and try to get better. I tried on hard the other night just for fun and got owned in about 10 seconds.

Most of my "sucktacular" moments come about when I am singing. Even the cats will leave the room.

Thanks Doug! It's constantly evolving =) I'm gonna PM you my next move. The MLs are above and beyond anything I've heard in the 6K price range EVER. The stereo image is so large, it extends beyond the speakers, deeper than the speakers and behind the listener! Diana Kralls piano was coming from behind me while her voice was slightly right center last night and I had to actually turn my head because I was convinced the surround backs were doing some work. The only thing was that it sounded SOOOO natural, I knew it couldn't possibly be the IL 10s! I'm in audio Nirvana right now =)

It really is! I wish you all lived around the corner, I'd have you all over to rock out with the logans! They will be kickin some serious rumproast once they are powered by two independent XPA-2s! WOOO HOOOOO! Now, the question is...should the XPA-2s go on amp stands in front of the front soundstage for all to see, or should they go in the component rack?

Put those babies out front! It will give you something pleasant and awe inspiring to look at while you are in a state of sonic bliss. It would make a statement "Grapenuts don't play around when it comes to 2-channel."
Would they even fit in your component rack? I assume you have more rack space than what is open into the room as the pics above show?

I could fit them on the back side, but I think I am along the same thought patterns as you- I think they would rock out front !! not as visually stimulating as a set of Pass Labs X350s, but Emo shows you that you don't have to be Bill Gates to own a quality set of beauties =)

Wow! You guys have some really nice stuff. I love the home theater rooms! I guess I'll share too... To give you an idea of the room (it's approximately 18' x 25'): Here was my setup as of last week: Speakers: My new Emotiva setup: ;D I really like how my new Oppo DVD player matches the Emo gear. It helps integrate things nicely in the dark. Here's my music server: It consists of a USB hard drive connected to a Linksys NSLU2 (diskless NAS) modified to a "SLUG" running Firefly streaming to my Roku M2000. Firefly transcodes my lossess FLAC encoded music files to WAV and streams to the Roku that is optically connected to the MMC-1. My next project is going to be a custom built (by me) entertainment system designed for either a table top DLP RPTV or plasma. I sit 15' from my TV, so I need something of large size. I was looking at new speakers, but to be honest this new Emotiva gear has changed the sound of my current speakers so much for the better I'm almost afraid to make a change as it *could* lessen the sound quality/stage I have now. That's how happy I am with everthing right now... ;D ;D

sweet setup man! loving the old Elite. BTW arent you supposed to take the port plugs out of the speakers? Or are you one of the ones that believe it delivers tighter bass with them in?

Nice clean setup tjhub! My wife would be thrilled with a room like that. We don't have any rooms that large in our house though. Again, nice setup!

sweet setup man! loving the old Elite. BTW arent you supposed to take the port plugs out of the speakers? Or are you one of the ones that believe it delivers tighter bass with them in? Thanks. It's hard to part with my Elite. It is a nice TV and very pimp for its day. The port plugs...yeah... I'm not sure what to say. When I first purchased them (4 years ago or so), I was running a Klipsch sub so I didn't *need* the bass extension that the port would have provided. At least that's my logic. I have them crossed at 70Hz right now and I suppose I've never tried removing the plugs. Today, knowing what I know now I suppose they'd sound the same with or without the plugs with my setup. I guess with them installed I at least have a nice storage place for them so they'll never get lost. Nice clean setup tjhub! My wife would be thrilled with a room like that. We don't have any rooms that large in our house though. Again, nice setup! Thanks. It's great to build houses so that you (and the wife) get everything you want or need out of a room. This is the 3rd house I've built and I got better with layout (for stereo/home theater) every time. I need one more new build to get it perfect...

Just stumbled upon this thread -- since I only own an Emotiva receiver and not an amp (yet), I hadn't really looked at the Pre/Pro posts up until now. I do hereby nominate myself as The One With The Most Humble Setup! I live in a tiny NYC apartment with living room that measures only -- get this -- 9' x 16'. Yup, a whopping 144 sq ft! I'm posting these sad little pics for my great-great-grandchilden's sake, so they can see many years from now that everyone has to start somewhere. (As an aside...why do I have -1 karma? I've only posted 5 times and already people want to smite me? )

Heres mine...emo rocks That's a beautiful setup. How do you like those Monitor Audio speakers? I was seriously considering Monitor Audio speakers before I got my Phase Technology V-12s. Like Phase Technology, Monitor Audio seems to offer a lot of bang for the buck, like Emotiva does with their electronics. I ended up going with the Phase Techs because I was already so pleased with the VDT 7.5s I already had.
